In his Butler Group Review article “Selecting IT Standards” of October 2006, Tim Jennings lays out a simple means of classifying them for use within an organisation according to the value that each is likely to add to the organisation. These principles remain valid, but that particular viewpoint reflects the utility related to the internal IT requirements. Business-to-Business (B2B) processing elevates them to a level entirely beyond internal efficiency and effectiveness.
