IBM’s decision to sell its laptop PC division to Chinese company, Lenovo, in 2005 surprised many people. They didn’t realise China had come that far. China has been making PCs for some time. There are a number of home-grown manufacturers like Great Wall making large quantities of what used to be called IBM-compatible PCs.
